Skiing on the Präbichl is an unforgettable winter dream, especially for families. The Präbichl ski arena lies between 1,100 m and 1,608 m and offers 20 kilometers of pistes of varying degrees of difficulty.

If YOU haven’t had enough of skiing, snowboarding or carving or simply want to enjoy the fun on the slopes in the evening, then let off steam on the groomed toboggan run.

There are 2 golf courses in the valley – at the foot of the LUXGUT – and other interesting courses to explore a little further away.

A wonderful spot: at the foot of the Seckau Alps, the spacious 18-hole course of the Golf Club Murtal spreads out in the middle of an idyllic forest landscape, which with its flat green meadows, crystal-clear groundwater lakes and streams – pleases the eye and the golfer’s heart in equal measure.

The combination of native animals and exciting play stations makes “Der Wilde Berg Mautern” a great excursion destination in Hochsteiermark!

Cultural Capital Graz

Graz is the capital of the southern Austrian state of Styria. The main square forms the heart of the medieval old town. The surrounding narrow streets with Renaissance and Baroque-style buildings are lined with stores and restaurants. A cable car runs up the Schlossberg, the town’s local mountain, to the centuries-old clock tower. The futuristic Kunsthaus Graz presents contemporary art on the banks of the Mur.

Hiking is the miller’s delight …. There are endless hiking trails directly from the LUXGUT.

And the great thing about it is that you will very rarely meet a fellow human being, unless you visit the Weiglmoaralm (approx. 35 min) to stop off there 😉

With a little sense of direction, you will find countless circular routes directly on the mountain, which you can extend as you wish. You can also tackle these circular routes by mountain bike.

For 2 high mountain hikes – Lärchkogel/Speickkogel (1998m high) and – Zirbitzkogel (2,396m high) we have detailed descriptions in the hut. And of course there are countless more to discover.

The Green Lake is a special natural phenomenon and is one of the most beautiful lakes in Austria.

The water level is heavily dependent on the amount of precipitation during the winter months. When the snow begins to melt on the mountains in spring, the Green Lake fills with crystal-clear spring water and reveals its unique emerald green color.

In addition to the Grüner See, there are also several other bathing lakes in the area

Europe’s most modern open-cast mine to experience up close – the ERZBERG.

The incredible silhouette above ground, the exciting adventure tour in the underground show mine and an adventure ride in the world’s largest cab, the 860 hp Hauly, fall into the category “You have to see and experience it!”.

The events at the Erzberg are also legendary. First and foremost the Erzbergrodeo.

On the herb hike with Mrs. Mint (directly on the LUXGUT mountain) you will learn about the healing powers of plants, which also fascinated Hildegard von Bingen (1098 – 1179) and Sebastian Kneipp (1821 – 1897). Herbalist Kneipp used medicinal herbs as the fifth pillar of his health teachings.

During this unique introduction to the powers of herbs, you will not only learn about their effects. You will also find out which locations the plants prefer, by which characteristics you can recognize them and which parts of the plant can be used by humans – and all this in the great outdoors in the fresh air.

An unforgettable experience for young and old.

The parasol (also known as the giant umbrella mushroom) is a delicious edible mushroom that is related to the button mushroom. The white, tender mushroom flesh tastes slightly nutty and can be prepared like a schnitzel.

The Parasol literally grows on your doorstep. You can find porcini mushrooms and the popular chanterelles in the forest around the LUXGUT.
