We see the Luxgut as a place where people can come to a deeper understanding. Where they can lie down to rest, think, talk to each other or simply do nothing. The noise of our everyday life has become extremely loud and people want places where they can take a deep breath.

From Eberlhof to LUXGUT
A more than moving story
How it all began …
First mentioned in a document in 1532 and in reality probably even older.
The generations before us were real pioneers. It was the “EBERLHOF” (=Vulgoname) that used the first tractor in the region for farming. In addition, adventurous self-constructed hay harvesting machines were used to make work on the mountain farm easier, as well as a piping system to fertilize the pastures in the mountains.
Despite the spirit of innovation, the now completely run-down business had to be sold to the current owner (Norbert) before the turn of the millennium.
The promise …
Norbert has promised to do everything in his power to ensure that the farm can flourish again and look forward to a brighter future.
A quarter of a century has now passed, a lot has already happened but there is still a lot to do.
Thanks to your loyalty, we are looking positively to the future despite the difficult global environment and promise to continue working carefully but steadily to preserve and develop this great place on earth so that you can continue to be part of it.
From now on “vacation on the alpine pasture”
After the takeover, it took around 10 years until the entire infrastructure (electricity, water, sewage, own sewage treatment plant, etc.) was brought up to the state of the art and in 2010 the new agricultural business – the BienenAlm with 2 branches of business (beekeeping and rental of luxury chalets – initially as vacation on the farm) – was launched.
“Enjoy your vacation and have a good rest” was the motto from then on.
Initially ridiculed and viewed critically, the BienenAlm, where sustainability played a central role from the outset, quickly developed into a flagship project for tourism in Styria.
The luxury vacation homes in Austria
In 2018, with REBECCA (formerly Waldhaus) THE vacation home in the forest built as a luxury chalet in a secluded location.
REBECCA (and of course OLIVIA ) are characterized by a luxurious and at the same time authentic feel-good ambience with a private spa.
Vacations on the alpine pasture redefined … whether vacation alone, vacation with a dog, vacation with a cat, vacation with a horse, vacation with children or a romantic vacation for two … have a nice vacation anyway 😉

A worthy name – LUXGUT
In 2024, due to the changed circumstances (no more beekeeping, no more disturbing co-owners and therefore ABSOLUTE SILENCE), we now dare to replace the well-known name BienenAlm with LUXGUT.
Some may wonder how this name came about… Let’s let the master – Friedrich Scheichl (our filmmaker and photographer) – from whose pen the name originated, have his say.

LUXGUT stands for all this.
Our symbol is a diamond, for the extraordinary nature of our chalets, but it is also a network that welcomes you and makes you feel at home from the very first second you stay with us. You are part of everything here.
