Active vacation in the mountains
Silke and Matthias from Rostock are not just guests, they are part of our LUXGUT family. As true sports enthusiasts, they use every visit to our hotel to enjoy the surrounding nature to the full during their vacation in the mountains.
From OLIVIA (your mountain hut in the mountains) they like to set off on their adventures. Mountain biking and running right from the doorstep are a must for her. The picturesque paths and fresh mountain air motivate them time and time again.
Active vacation = high mountain tour
Our “lowland Indians” don’t even shy away from tours in the high mountains. They are on vacation in the mountains, so they recently climbed the Lärchkogel at an altitude of almost 2000 meters and were rewarded with a breathtaking view that quickly made them forget their efforts.
Short description of the Lärchkogel tour
The tour starts at the summer parking lot in Weitental. At the beginning, a gentle ascent leads along the forest road to the crossroads, where you turn left towards Kreuzsattel. On the way up, there is a drinking fountain for refreshment.
The hiking trail gradually becomes steeper until you reach the Kreuzsattel at 1424 m, where there is a wayside shrine. From there, a broad, gentle ridge leads uphill to the summit of the Lärchkogel (1894 m), with the fence serving as a guide.
There is a small refuge at the summit cross, which can accommodate a maximum of 3-4 people. The descent is in a northerly direction to Melkboden and then further downhill in serpentines to the Zechneralmhütte at 1504 m.
Below the hut, the trail leads across meadows to the stream and then along the forest road back to the starting point.
In winter, the Lärchkogel is a popular destination for ski tours and snowshoe hikes.
Wellness afterwards
A refreshing “ice bath” in Olivia’s swimming pond … no problem for Silke and Mathias even in cold October and is simply part of a vacation in the mountains;-). For them, it is an invigorating ritual that inspires them anew every time. Of course, you can also enjoy Olivia’s sauna and hot tub.
Silke and Matthias are not only our regular guests, but also our inspiration. Their enthusiasm for nature and their thirst for adventure are infectious and make each of their active vacations an unforgettable experience for all of us.
